Having a clean shower is very important for the hygiene of your home. Are you wondering what is the easiest way to clean it without wasting too much time? Well, I am about to spill all of my secrets!

A general shower cleaning

Before I tell you how I clean my shower I need to get a few things out of the way. One of the easiest ways you can avoid soap scum and hard water stains is to simply dry your shower after every use. This has really helped me with general cleaning.

Now, once I have decided it is time to deep clean the shower here is what I usually do:

I fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and dish soap (equal parts of them!).

Then I spray the shower walls with the mixture and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Once the time has passed I wipe and scrub the shower walls with a sponge.

If any parts of the shower are really dirty I sprinkle some baking soda on the sponge and then I scrub the area with it.

Once I am done I rinse the shower with the showerhead so that the vinegar, soap, and baking soda are completely removed.

How I clean the shower fixtures?

As I previously mentioned I wipe the shower after every use. I pay extra attention to shower fixtures since they are the ones that accumulate hard water stains the easiest.

This is why I don’t need to do much when I am deep cleaning the shower. I usually grab a cloth and a glass cleaner which are enough to get the job done.

But if your fixtures aren’t that clean and you need to get rid of all types of stains then I recommend you mix vinegar and water in a bowl. Dip a cloth in the solution and start wiping all the shower fixtures with it. Once you are done – rinse everything and dry it with a clean towel.

How to deal with rust stains?

If you have rust stains anywhere in your shower then I have a simple solution for you – lemon juice!

Just pour some fresh lemon juice on the affected area and sprinkle salt on it. Let that sit for a few hours then grab a cloth, scrub the area, and rinse.
