I have been using DIY recipes for cleaners for over a year now and I can confidently say that I love it! I love experimenting and trying out new ingredients just to see if they work.

The first thing I did was an all-purpose cleaner because it was the easiest recipe I could find. I remember that I simply mixed water and vinegar then I added a few drops of essential oils. The cleaner did work and the results were great so I continued using it for a few months but then I got bored of it. I wanted to try out new things and change my all-purpose cleaner to something a bit more… exciting. So I did!

How I Make The Best All-Purpose Cleaner?

The first thing I prepare is a spray bottle. Then I grab borax, washing soda, castile soap, my favourite lavender essential oil, and 2 cups of water.

I add a tablespoon of the borax and 1/2 tablespoon of washing soda into the spray bottle. Then I add a tablespoon of Castile soap and around 20 drops of the lavender essential oil. Of course, you can use any essential oil you want but I prefer lavender because it has antibacterial properties!

Next, I add the 2 cups of water into the bottle. I suggest you use hot water because the ingredients will dissolve a lot easier that way. Then I place the lid and shake very well until everything has mixed.

If I have to be honest, I use this cleaner on just about any surface in my home – from cleaning the kitchen countertop to even the bathtub, faucets, sinks, shower, etc. It smells very nice and it leaves a fresh scent behind which is very nice. Before, when I used the vinegar all-purpose cleaner, I would often get overwhelmed by the vinegar smell so if you do not like it, this cleaner is a great alternative!
